New Statement On Merimon Case

By: James Clark

A national group released a statement yesterday about missing Lubbock woman Peggy Merimon. She disappeared in August 2006. The body of her co-worker Kay Harrelson was found days later. Both women were last seen getting into the car of a middle-aged white man at the Lubbock State School. The National Missing Persons Organization is trying to get Peggy Merimon’s case in front of the public again for tips. The reward money in the case recently doubled to $100,000.

“So please come forward. Don’t be scared. Just think of the good that you’re doing for the family and for the community,” says Merimon’s daughter, Natosha Davis. The family is resigned to the idea that Merimon is likely not alive. But they still want to give her a proper burial and they want whoever took her to go to prison.

By the way, that $100,000 reward is a limited time offer. It expires in six months. A completely different organization, the Kristen Foundation, set up a billboard on West 19th street. It’s intended to remind folks about Peggy Merimon so that she is not forgotten.
