| Long Hair Battle By: MetroSource News (Needville) A Texas mother says she's prepared to go to court in order to allow her five-year-old son Adriel to keep his waist-long hair. The "Houston Chronicle" reports Michelle Betenbaugh isn't happy that the Needville School District has told her Adriel's hair must be cut if he wants to attend school this fall. The district's dress code does not allow boys' hair to go below the collar or the eyes. Betenbaugh says Adriel's father is of Apache descent, and the tribe's religious beliefs call for the men to have long hair. She called Adriel's hair "sacred" and refuses to cut it. The school district countered that Betenbaugh has yet to furnish proof that Adriel practices traditional Apache religious beliefs.
