(Miami, FL) -- There are just two days until the Colts and Saints clash for NFL supremacy in Super Bowl 44. Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney expects to test his injured ankle today, but his status remains uncertain. Saints quarterback Drew Brees said yesterday they don't mind being an underdog.

(Cleveland, OH) -- LeBron James scored a game-high 36 points as the Cavaliers reeled off their 10th consecutive win with a 102-86 triumph over the Heat in Cleveland. James also had seven rebounds and eight assists for the Cavaliers, who are 21-and-3 at home and an NBA-best 40-and-11 overall.

(Los Angeles, CA) -- The Los Angeles Clippers have relieved Mike Dunleavy of his head coaching duties. Dunleavy will remain the team's general manager and focus on the club's personnel matters. Assistant Kim Hughes takes over as interim head coach. The Clippers are 21-and-28 on the season.

(New York, NY) -- Nicklas Backstrom scored the go-ahead goal with a power-play tally in the third period as the streaking Captials claimed a 6-5 win over the Rangers in New York. Alex Ovechkin had two goals and an assist for Washington, which extended its club-record winning streak to 12 games.

(Colorado Springs, CO) -- Hurricanes defenseman Tim Gleason and Ducks defenseman Ryan Whitney were both added to the USA Olympic Hockey team on Thursday. They are taking the spots of the injured Mike Komisarek and Paul Martin. Team USA opens against Switzerland February 16th.

(Detroit, MI) -- The Tigers have locked up ace right-hander Justin Verlander to a five-year deal worth a reported $80-million. It covers his last two seasons of arbitration and first three years of potential free agency. Verlander went 19-and-9 with a 3.45 ERA and a league-leading 269 strikeouts last year.
