State Files Lawsuit Against Manure Operations

(Des Moines, IA) -- There is a manure controversy in Iowa. The state is taking two animal feeding operations to court for allegedly failing to follow Iowa regulations over manure management.
Attorney General Tom Miller says his office has filed a lawsuit against General Development, LLC and Kollasch Land and Livestock, Incorporated. Both companies are based in Whittemore and operate animal farms in Kossuth and Palo Alto Counties. Miller says the companies allegedly failed to submit required manure management plans to the state for more than two years.
