>>Police Arrest Man Who Allegedly Fatally Shot Other Man

(Pasadena, TX) -- Authorities have arrested someone they believe might have fatally shot another man during a domestic commotion Sunday. Police say they think a quarrel between a man, his ex-romantic partner and her male friend might have prompted the shooting, which occurred about 1 p.m. in the eleven-hundred block of Burke in Pasadena. Officials say the suspect shot the victim and then left the site with his three children, who saw the crime committed. Authorities say the children were discovered uninjured in the car and family members are taking care of them now.

>>Fire Strikes East Houston Motel

(Houston, TX) -- Officials are investigating the cause of a fire that started Sunday at an east Houston motel. Officials say firefighters were able to keep the fire enclosed in one unit. Smoke and water damaged a neighboring structure.

>>Sarah Palin Pitches For Governor Perry At Area Event

(Cypress, TX) -- Former Alaska Governor and vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin told a crowd at the Cypress area's Berry Center Sunday why she thinks voters should re-elect incumbent Governor Rick Perry. Palin told about six-thousand people that Texans and Alaskans want basically the same things, including, quote "a good job in our hometown, safety and security for our loved ones and we just want a small and smarter government that'll kind of get out of our way." Palin added that quote, "No one understands that better than Rick Perry." Perry will face U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, a fellow Republican, in the gubernatorial election.

>>Fundraiser Raises Thousands To Help Teen With Cancer Travel

(Fulshear, TX) -- A Saturday fundraising event generated over 21-thousand-dollars to help a Fulshear teen who has terminal cancer take trips to Hawaii and Europe. "The Houston Chronicle" reports that 16-year-old Carly Davis plans to take a volcano tour in Hawaii and then visit Europe with her family. On her journeys, she also wants to take art, cello and horseback-riding lessons. Davis' classmate, Elyssa Garza and Elyssa's mother, Evelyn Martin organized a carnival-like fundraiser with games, a live band, cotton candy and more at Martin's Fulshear mortgage office. Davis, who will spend her last day at Richmond's Foster High School today, has been diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma and doctors predict she has around a year to live.
