>>New Orleans Celebrates Saints' Super Bowl Victory

(New Orleans, LA) -- Thousands of people poured into the streets of the French Quarter last night to celebrate the New Orleans Saints' victory over the Indiana Colts in Super Bowl 44. The underdog Saints hammered the heavily favored Colts 31 to 17, scoring most of their points in the second half. Saints quarterback Drew Brees was named the MVP after he threw for 288 yards and two touchdowns. Tracy Porter sealed the victory with a 74-yard interception return for a touchdown late in the fourth quarter.

>>North American Toyota Plants Resume Production

(Washington, DC) -- Toyota will fire its assembly lines back up today after shutting down production for a week at six North American plants. The automaker stopped making vehicles due to massive recalls from faulty gas pedals. Toyota also suspended sales on eight models that accounted for 60-percent of its North American sales volume. A spokesman for the automaker told the "Detroit News" Toyota now has enough replacement gas pedals on hand to resume production. Plants had been shut down in Indiana, Kentucky, Texas and Canada as Toyota awaited the parts.

>>Palin Criticizes Obama Administration's National Security Record

(Nashville, TN) -- Sarah Palin criticized the Obama administration's record on national security Saturday night. During her keynote speech at the National Tea Party Convention in Nashville, Palin called last December's foiled bombing attempt on a Detroit-bound flight a "Christmas miracle." She added, quote, "That is not the way that the system is supposed to work." Palin also called for lower taxes for the American people during her speech. Outside, protestors claimed the for-profit event was not in line with the Tea Party Convention's grassroots foundation.

>>Prices At Pumps Keep Falling

(New York, NY) -- Prices at the pumps just keep falling thanks to declining crude oil prices. Industry analyst Trilby Lundberg reports the price of gasoline has dropped nearly six cents a gallon over the past two weeks. The current national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is two-dollars-66-cents. The lowest average price is in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where regular is going for two-38 per gallon. The highest price in the U.S. is in Honolulu, Hawaii where the average is three-32.

>>Viewers Love Snickers Super Bowl Ad

(Undated) -- Football fans weren't the only ones keeping score during the Super Bowl. Viewers also got to weigh in on the commercials in the 22nd annual "USA Today" Super Bowl Ad Meter. More than 60 ads aired during the big game. This year, young guys tackling octogenarian actors Betty White and Abe Vigoda helped Snickers walk away with the best-liked Super Bowl spot. Doritos clinched second place with an ad about a dog that straps a shock collar onto a mean guy. A pro-life ad featuring Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow and his mom ranked in the bottom quarter of the list.

>>Sugary Soft Drinks Raise Pancreatic Cancer Risk

(Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN) -- A new report in the journal "Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention" finds drinking two or more soda pops a week nearly doubles a person's risk of developing pancreatic cancer. Researchers at the University of Minnesota think the high levels of sugar in soft drinks may increase the level of insulin in the body, contributing to pancreatic cancer cell growth. Researchers did not note an association between other sweetened beverages, such as fruit juice, and increased pancreatic cancer risk.

>>"Dear John" Knocks "Avatar" From Top Of Box Office

(Los Angeles, CA) -- "Avatar" is no longer the number one movie in North America. The new romantic movie "Dear John" broke the science fiction fantasy's seven-week hold on the top spot by bringing in an estimated 32-point-four million dollars. Distributor Screen Gems had estimated the movie would bring in around 20-million dollars in its opening weekend. "Avatar" earned 23-point-six million. In third this week was the debut of "From Paris With Love," earning eight-point-one million. Falling to fourth from second last week was "Edge Of Darkness," followed by "The Tooth Fairy" in fifth.
