Most Americans Believe Gun Ownership Is a Constitution

By: MetroSoruce News

Just under 70-percent of those taking part in a new Rasmussen Reports poll say city governments can't make it illegal for citizens to keep firearms, and 70-percent also agree that gun ownership is protected in the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. Just a quarter of those surveyed think city officials have the authority to ban guns, and only 14-percent don't believe that having a gun is a Constitutional right. But Americans are much closely divided over the need for tighter laws regarding gun control. While 42-percent believe stricter laws are necessary, 49-percent don't think there's a need for any changes. While 44-percent of Americans note they or someone in their home possesses a gun, there are no guns in 49-percent of the households polled.
