San Antonio's CPS Energy plans to raise nearly 380-million-dollars this week by selling bonds. General Motors' Chairman and CEO is raising eyebrows for his use of private corporate jets to fly between his San Antonio home and his Detroit apartment. And, two would-be convenience store robbers are still at large after fleeing from a Big Star Mart when its owner pulled out his own gun and started firing at them.

>>Woman Found Dead At Strip Mall On Harry Wurzbach Road

(San Antonio, TX) -- A woman thought to be in her late 40s was found dead last evening between an apartment complex and a dry cleaners in a strip mall in the 24-hundred block of Harry Wurzbach Road. Homicide detectives are investigating the death of the unidentified woman. They had not determined the cause of death, but there were no obvious signs of trauma.

>>CPS Energy Plans To Sell Nearly 380-Million In Bonds

(San Antonio, TX) -- San Antonio's CPS Energy plans to raise nearly 380-million-dollars this week by selling bonds. "Bloomberg News" reports the largest municipally owned utility in the nation will sell either taxable "Build America Bonds," tax-exempt bonds or a combination of the two. CPS plans to use the money to finance new construction. Underwriting the highly rated bonds is Barclays bank. Acquired by San Antonio in 1942, CPS serves 707-thousand electricity customers and 322-thousand natural gas customers.

>>GM Boss Flies Corporate Jet Regularly Between San Antonio, Detroit

(San Antonio, TX) -- General Motors' Chairman and CEO Edward Whitacre Junior is raising eyebrows for his use of private corporate jets to fly between his San Antonio home and his Detroit apartment. The 68-year-old's perk is not with GM, which dumped its jet fleet as a condition for a 50-billion-dollar government bailout. "The Detroit News" reports that Whitacre in 2007 negotiated the use of AT&T's corporate jets for up to ten hours a month for the rest of his life. He made that deal as part of a 157-million-dollar retirement package when he left AT&T. Auto industry observers say the pact may be perfectly legal, but it presents an image problem considering the ridicule GM endured in late 2008 when car company executives flew to Washington to seek a bailout.

>>Police Investigate Death Of Eight-Month-Old Boy

(San Antonio, TX) -- San Antonio police are investigating the death of an eight-month-old boy Sunday afternoon at an apartment in the Village of Cable Ranch. The baby's father called authorities. Homicide detectives investigating the scene said they likely would consider the case an apparent sudden-death syndrome unless the medical examiner rules otherwise.

>>Convenience Store Owner Fires On Would-Be Robbers

(San Antonio, TX) -- Two would-be convenience store robbers are still at large after fleeing from a Big Star Mart when its owner pulled out his own gun and started firing at them. Owner Ameer Hirani said the act, caught on video, was intended to protect his family, his business and eight customers who were in the store in the 28-hundred block of Vance Jackson late Friday night. The video shows two people entering, one robber was armed with a shotgun and demanded money. Hirani said he fired because he thought the gunman would hurt him.
