| Missing Women: Call For Nationwide Search By: James Clark One of the two families in the case of missing Lubbock women calls for a nationwide search. The family of 61-year-old Peggy Sue Merimon now asks for a nationwide search. Merimon and her coworker 51-year-old Louetta Kay Harrelson disappeared more than a week ago from the Lubbock State School. They were last seen getting into the car of an unidentified white man during their lunch break last Wednesday. So why isn’t this already a nationwide case complete with an FBI investigation? Lt. Scott Hudgens says, “Well there’s certain criteria that have to be met before federal agencies can become involved. And at this point we don’t have any information that would take it over that threshold.” So for the moment it’s a missing persons case, not a kidnapping case or any other crime. But obviously that does not comfort the families of these missing women. Story Posted: Thu Aug 17 06:00:00 CDT 2006 Created: Thu Aug 17 05:56:07 CDT 2006 BACK TO HOME/NEWS |
