Candidates filing with the Lubbock County Republican Party for offices up for election in the March 4, 2008 Primary are:

Carl Isett, State Representative District 84

Jim Bob Darnell, Incumbent, District Judge District 140
William C. (Bill) Sowder, Incumbent, District Judge District 99

Bill McCay, Incumbent, County Commissioner Precinct 1
Frant Gutierrez, for County Commissioner Precinct 3

David Gutierrez, Incumbent, for County Sheriff

Paul Hanna candidate for Constable Precinct 1
Ken Mull, Incumbent, for Constable Precinct 1
Larry D. Johnson, Incumbent, for Constable Precinct 2
Freddie G. Salazar candidate for Constable Precinct 3
Carroll A. Thomas, Incumbent, for Constable Precinct 4

Three candidates have filed for the position of County Tax Assessor-Collector:
Victoria Lujan, Molly Ramos, and Ronnie Keister.

Chairman John Steinmetz does not plan to file for re-election. Three candidates have filed for the position:
Chris Winn, Bill Franklin, and Clif Burnett.

A number of candidates have filed for Precinct Chair positions throughout the county. Filing are:
