| Pit Bull Attacked Man Before Shot & Killed By: James Clark A Lubbock man was not only defending his own dog from a Pit Bull, he was defending himself. Following up on a News Radio 1420 exclusive… the Pit Bull dog shot earlier this week during a violent attack died. Tuesday afternoon a man in the 800 block of North Elkhart told police that he had just shot the neighbor’s Pitt Bull. The man said the neighbor’s Pitt Bull got into his back yard and attacked his dog, which just happens to also be a Pit Bull. But here’s part of the story we did not know at the time. Not only did the neighbor’s Pit Bull attack the other dog, a police report says the Pit attacked the man as well. And that’s when he used a handgun. A police report says the attacking Pit Bull was taken to a veterinarian where it later died. The victim Pit Bull was also taken to a vet and is recovering. Yesterday evening Police spokesman Greg Stevens did not know the name of the man who was attacked, and his name is not listed in the public version of the police report.
